E ala e, ka lā i ka hikina,
Awaken/Arise, the sun in the east,

I ka moana, ka moana hohonu,
From the ocean, the ocean deep,

Pi`i ka lewa, ka lewa nu`u,
Climbing (to) the heaven, the heaven highest,

I ka hikina, aia ka lâ, e ala e!
In the east, there is the sun, awaken!

Good Morning, Maika’i Kakahiaka!

If you missed Day 1, you can check it out HERE, before you get started.  Waking up excites me because of the many possibilities life holds for us, and the possibility of making a difference in someone’s life.  So why not start with your own.

I hope you feel excited and stoked, especially since you made your decision to jump on board this Voyage right? And how’s that Must List looking in that journal of yours?

This Must List contains the thoughts and items that mean most to us in order to live a Ku lifestyle.

Here are a few of my Musts:

  • must exercise and be active daily
  • must healthy meals and less processed foods
  • must write every day
  • must contribute to help others in a meaningful way
  • must be passionate
  • must build meaningful relationships
  • I must focus on paying off my student loans
  • must continue to grow and learn
  • must always think of my family and friends

I have a lot more, but I wanted to give you an idea of what’s important to me.  Your list may be different than mine and that’s fine because it’s your life.

Today, I looked over my list and realized that’s how I want my life to be like.  Your list is your vision of how you want to live your life.

The exercise for today is to look over you list again and take time to write down how your life would be if you did all the things you feel you must do.  Make it as detailed as possible.  Here’s an interesting tip as well.  Instead of writing in the future tense, write in the present tense.  It’s something I learned from other successful people and have used it with great results.

So instead of saying for example:

I would be spending more time with my family and creating memorable moments.

I would say:

I spend more time with my family creating memorable moments.

Feel free to make it as detailed as possible. Use your imagination. Go crazy.  You should feel a sense of mana running through your body.  You’ll know what I mean once you start writing.

Here are a few questions to get your creative juices flowing:

  • What do your mornings look like, what are you doing?
  • Where are you living?
  • Who is with you? Who are your spending the majority of the time with?
  • How are you helping others?
  • What are your feelings?

Remember, there are no right or wrong answers.  This Voyage you have started is for YOU.  Sometimes people focus so much on what to do for others to make them happy.  It’s okay to be selfish a bit because it’s hard to make a difference if you aren’t open to do something for yourself.

Mahalo and Be Ku!
