I am guilty of this myself.
We tend to put off certain tasks out of fear. The fear of failure.
The fear of denial.
The fear that we don’t have what it takes.
We are afraid of taking the lead, making noise, rattling cages, being heard, and stepping out of our comfort zone.
We may find excuses such as I don’t have the time, I’m too tired, or it’s not that important.
And then we find ourselves thinking…
- Why am I not happy?
- Why don’t I enjoy work?
- Why do I feel stuck?
- Why am I not doing what I truly want to do?
Every once in awhile, I, too, need a little kick in the ass to get moving. This morning my wife gave me a kick in the ass, and said “What are you waiting for?”
Then as she drove off into the sunrise this Kailua morning, all of the fears ran through my head.
“What am I waiting for?”
We all want to be happy and find our true calling. Our purpose.
It starts with my 3D Kū Philosophy of Dedication, Determination, and Discipline.
So whatever it is you want to do, accomplish, or even if it’s something as small as finishing a to-do list.
It’s time to take a deep breath, focus on the task, and be Kū.
Mai maka`u i ka hana, maka`u i ka moloa.
Don’t fear work, fear laziness.
Aloha and be Kū
