As a writer, I come across many other sites where I draw inspiration from. One of them is ImpossibleHQ.com ran by Joel Runyon. When I first found his site, I was drawn to the name and downloaded his Manifesto to find out what exactly this guy was all about.
Simply put – he’s a pretty frickin awesome guy.
He made a list called “The Impossible List” and has crossed off all of the things he completed which he though was impossible. It will give you a great idea on how much he has accomplished and overcame.
And then I came across this video by Joel, which made everything he has done make sense to me. It goes in-line with what I’m trying to accomplish here with The Aipa Project. Check it out:
Recently, I resigned from my job as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Redlands. It was a very difficult decision, probably one of the hardest ones I ever had to make. It is truly bittersweet.
I will be moving back to Hawaii where presently job-wise is unknown. Worried? I’ll remind you that my word for the year is – POSSIBILITIES. I think this is the time to embody it.
Mahalo. Aloha. A hui hou.
I just found your blog and this post really struck home with me. I have been stuck in a rut both personally and professionally because of my fear of being uncomfortable. The cold shower idea is a great one!
I am actually going to Maui in a few days for vacation, but also to feel out job opportunities in the food/sustainability realm. The idea of moving away from my family is terrifying, but I have always dreamed of trying to live in Hawaii. I guess I struggle with the idea not only of being uncomfortable, but also making “smart decisions.”
Thanks for a post that makes me think!
Hey Hillary – by the way great name! thats my mom’s name. Glad you enjoyed my post. If you are looking for opportunities in the food/sustainability realm, Maui is a great place because that is where the majority of farmland is for hawaii. Moving away from family is always a tough decision.
