Be Strong. Be Inspired. Be Ku.
Aloha. My name is Daniel and this is my domain, my sanctuary, and my way to reach out to the world. With my passion for strength and fitness, I empower people to become strong physically, mentally, and spiritually. Here, I will share my thoughts on training, nutrition, personal growth, and self discovery.
Why The Aipa Project?
Project: an undertaking that requires effort by an individual or a collaboration in order to achieve a specific purpose.
You may be thinking this is just another blog about self development. Yes and no. It’s is about finding your passions and living a healthy and strong life. By looking deeper within myself, I developed ‘Build a Ku Body’ which is the mission behind The Aipa Project.
The word Ku comes from the Hawaiian language and has a loaded meaning. Ku has many meanings such as - to stand upright, to achieve, to rule, and is also know as the god of strength and courage. So when I speak of building a Ku body, I’m talking about taking control of your mind, body, and soul.
Through The Aipa Project, I will share with you my journey towards building a Ku body and hopefully help you along the way towards your goal of living a meaningful and fulfilling life.
I will share with you my failures and successes. There are areas I excel in and other areas I need to improve. In order to find true happiness within life you must always work towards personal growth, through learning from experiences and others, and contributing for the benefit of others.
So Who Am I?
Most people call me – Aipa. But Danny, or Daniel will work as well.
I was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. I’m now in Redlands, California working as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Redlands. I’m a true island boy, so no matter where I’m at, the islands are always there with me.
I’m passionate about writing, strength training, learning about leadership, and helping others. I believe if you want to live a meaningful life, you must continue to learn and give back.
Although I’m a strength coach and constantly interact with athletes, I’m still an introvert. But I may be coming out of my shell a little bit more. At times I’m a pretty quiet guy, and there are times where I’m a little off the wall. I secretly wish my life was a musical.
You could call me a momma’s boy and I wouldn’t be insulted (Love you mom).
Most people wake up in the morning only wanting to go back to be. Not me. I’m up and ready for breakfast. I love everything about breakfast. Not a breakfast person? Come have breakfast with me and I will share with you the wonders and sexiness of breakfast.
The most important thing in my life is Family. They are everything to me.
Help me, Help you.
My vision behind The Aipa Project, is to build a community where we can all learn and help one another. It is my hope to attract like-minded people, like yourself. I want you to comment and offer feedback on whatever I’m saying.
Lastly, if you know of anyone else who wants to join in on the Project – send them over here to check out all of the awesomeness that is going on.
Aloha. Mahalo. A Hui Hou!
